Registration and Reporting for Homeschooling in Tasmania
There are mandatory homeschooling registration and reporting requirements for the Tasmanian Government.
While Euka provides a Government Registration and Reporting Service, the Euka learning plans we generate can’t be submitted as part of the Home Education Summary and Program (HESP). You can use the Euka learning plans to gain insights into the topics that will be covered in various subject areas. You might also like to use the learning plans to see how we adjust the program for your child’s learning style.
However it’s important that you take the information we provide and use it to create your own HESP as the Office of the Education Registrar in Tasmania relies on parents using their own personal research and reflection.

Our Step by Step Guide

Reporting and re-registering
The Tasmanian Government’s Office of the Education Registrar requires an evaluation of your Home Education Summary and Program (HESP) if you’d like to re-register your child for another year.
In the evaluation, OER are looking for how the program worked over the last year. Such questions to ask are:
- Was it as good as or better than you expected? In what way?
- Are there any areas that did not work as well as you had hoped? Why did they not work?
- In the light of the above, is there anything you will be changing?
Together with the evaluation, the OER will review your re-written HESP for the next year.
The Tasmanian Office of the Education Registrar has more information about reporting.
