EUKA NEWS – SEPTEMBER 2023

Mid-Term Highlights and Opportunities in the Euka Community

The start of spring has brought a flurry of activity into the Euka Homeschooling community. We are halfway through the Term and seeing the weeks fly by. Whether you are in Foundation or Grades 11 & 12 remember to pace yourself. Ensuring the learning is the goal rather than trying to always stick to school terms can be a huge weight off. Don’t forget to check out the various opportunities for Grade 12 students this month.

Year 11 & 12 Fashion Workshops

Brisbane campus, Bachelor of Creative Industries (Applied fashion), will run two fashion design workshops in late September. The workshops are designed to give an insight into being a designer and maker and a typical day at a fashion degree.

The design process will be explored through drawing, collage, ideation and 3D up-cycling and textile manipulation. The result will be a portfolio-ready mini project and plenty of ideas you can try out in future projects.

Workshop

  • Date: Friday, September 29th, for year 11 & 12 students.
  • Price: Free, but registration is a must.
  • Please bring your own lunch.

Euka Sports Star

Euka wants to congratulate Izzy Davis who represented Euka when competing in the Interschool State championship last week. Izzy had been successful in getting to Nationals, for Moguls, Ski X & Alpine, as an individual. Unfortunately, due to lack of snow, the nationals have been cancelled. Hopefully, we will have a larger team of Euka students carving it up in the snow next year. The Euka community applauds you Izzy!
