Module 07 | Motivation, Wellbeing and Engagement

About this module

Homeschooling works when learning feels good. Not every day will be perfect, but when the overall experience is positive — for your child and for you — you’ll keep going. And keeping going is everything.

This module is about the long game. Brett and Ellen share practical, honest strategies for keeping your child’s motivation alive, recognising when they need a break, and protecting their wellbeing as they grow. They also talk about something that doesn’t come up enough: your wellbeing as the parent.

Home education is a generous, demanding thing to take on. Looking after yourself — not as an afterthought, but as a genuine priority — is what makes homeschooling sustainable for years, not just months.

In this module

  • Practical ways to keep learning enjoyable and engaging
  • Recognising when your child needs a reset — and how to respond
  • Protecting your child’s emotional and social wellbeing
  • Why looking after yourself matters, and how to actually do it
