Euka Club 2023 Highlights & 2024 Updates

Lego Club

Lego Club will return on the 6th of February, 2024.

In 2023, Lego Club had a busy year filled with diverse build challenges, both new and old, attracting many new members who have become familiar faces in Lego Club!

Our build challenges had us exploring different themes, such as recreating holiday experiences, building pizzas with imaginative toppings, and constructing nature-inspired builds based on our real experiences!

Collaborative challenges encouraged interaction among members, prompting them to build objects chosen by partners or create fellow members as superheroes with their chosen superpowers! These collaborative challenges fostered stronger social connections within the club and gave members much-appreciated time to talk with each other!

Ongoing Lego stories added an extra layer of creativity, prompting members to tell a collaborative story through building objects and events that continued each narrative in some way. The stories ranged from throwing birthday parties for animals in igloos to venturing into the mysterious deep sea!

Finally, the year concluded with a significant shift in how challenges were presented. Members are now tasked with completing challenges during the week between meetings, and winners gained the responsibility of proposing their own build challenges during session time!

I feel so lucky to be your Lego instructor for this year, and I look forward to seeing everyone again in 2024!

Your friendly Lego host,

Oscar

Cooking Club

Cooking Club will return on the 8th of February, 2024.

Thank you to everyone for another amazing year of Cooking Club, I had so much fun hosting the club and seeing everyone’s skills flourish in the kitchen. We made lots of simple meals but they were also so tasty!

One of my favourite things we cooked this year was the spinach and feta gozleme! But I think a favourite for everyone was a decadent chocolate brownie! For Term 4, I got to meet so many new talented chefs and we cooked plenty of savoury meals like Pasta Salad and Tacos with Mango Salsa.

I hope everyone enjoyed the year and the last term of Cooking Club for 2023 and please let us know if you have any feedback to make Cooking Club even better for years to come! I hope you have a loving and safe Christmas and New Year, and I hope to see everyone and more new faces in Term 1 2024.

Tamara

Minecraft Club

Minecraft Club will return on the 7th of February, 2024.

Minecraft Club has been a whirlwind of creativity and friendship this term!

This term brought a few changes in the game so we kicked things off by refreshing our memories on club rules and sharing stories from the holidays, and we had a blast catching up with old friends and making new ones.

In our Games Weeks, we unleashed our creativity with hide and seek at the Minecraft Castle, escape room challenges and speed mining to keep things exciting!

Our build weeks encouraged everyone to build anything their hearts desired. From treetop treehouses to underwater cities, the imagination flowed like a river. Our Minecraft world saw a burst of new members and new exciting creations. We explored themes like ‘Animals/Mobs’ and dived into the wonders of the animal kingdom. We even had a spooky haunted build battle, where players worked together to create spine-tingling scenes. The ‘Favourite Fiction’ theme brought Narnia, dragons, and more into our virtual world.

To prepare for the school holidays, players even got to plan their very own vacation in Minecraft. Some built their dream holiday destination and others joined forces to create group trip ideas!

The Minecraft Club is a hub of creativity and friendships, we can’t wait for more adventures together!

Your friendly Minecraft Club Host,
Mr. Matt
