Euka Club Updates – Term 4 Highlights
Lego Club
A message from our Lego Club Host Oscar:
Lego Club had a hectic month through November! We collaborated on an epic adventure in which our members built different parts of an underwater adventure, we built each other as zoo animals, we recreated our favourite toys out of Lego, and built ourselves riding our dragons!
We’ve also reorganised Lego Club to restructure how it operates going forward: from now on, our main challenge will be given over the week between Lego Club sessions, and the winner of each challenge will decide what everyone is building during the Zoom session! This has demonstrated higher engagement from club members and allows for greater social opportunities through the winner’s challenges!
I look forward to seeing you all again over the next few weeks, and I hope to see you all again next year!
From your Lego Club host,
Oscar De Frenza

Minecraft Club
Minecraft Club has been a whirlwind of creativity and friendship this term!
This term brought a few changes in the game so we kicked things off by refreshing our memories on club rules and sharing stories from the holidays, and we had a blast catching up with old friends and making new ones.
In our Games Weeks, we unleashed our creativity with hide and seek at the Minecraft Castle, escape room challenges and speed mining to keep things exciting!
Our build weeks encouraged everyone to build anything their hearts desired. From treetop treehouses to underwater cities, the imagination flowed like a river. Our Minecraft world saw a burst of new members and new exciting creations. We explored themes like ‘Animals/Mobs’ and dived into the wonders of the animal kingdom. We even had a spooky haunted build battle, where players worked together to create spine-tingling scenes. The ‘Favourite Fiction’ theme brought Narnia, dragons, and more into our virtual world.
To prepare for the school holidays, players even got to plan their very own vacation in Minecraft. Some built their dream holiday destination and others joined forces to create group trip ideas!
The Minecraft Club is a hub of creativity and friendships, we can’t wait for more adventures together!

🌟 Blake Bishop’s Inspiring Naval Adventure 🚢✈️
December’s spotlight shines brightly on Blake Bishop, a remarkable member of the Euka community whose recent experience with the Royal Australian Navy is nothing short of inspirational.
👨✈️ Blake’s Naval Journey: Blake recently had the incredible opportunity to participate in a Navy Aviation work experience, a venture that took him to HMAS Albatross and HMAS Creswell. These sites are pivotal to the Royal Australian Navy’s operations, housing the Fleet Air Arm and the Royal Australian Naval College, among other critical departments.
🚁 Immersive Experiences: At Albatross and Creswell, Blake explored various base areas and had the rare chance to use several multi-million-dollar flight simulators, including one that costs a staggering $40 million annually to operate. His journey didn’t stop at high-tech simulations; he engaged in hands-on water training exercises used by Navy Aviators, learning essential survival skills like managing lifeboats and group warmth maintenance.
One of the highlights for Blake was participating in practical water training. He bravely jumped from heights into the water and honed basic swimming techniques – skills crucial for anyone aspiring to a career in naval aviation.
🔍 Exploring the Armoury: Blake’s adventure also included a visit to the armoury at Albatross, where he interacted with sailors involved in critical boarding operations and saw the impressive Seahawks and other helicopters. He even got hands-on experience with a remote-controlled machine used for transporting helicopters on ships.
🗣️ Valuable Connections: What Blake found most enriching, however, was the chance to converse with Navy Sailors and Officers. These interactions provided him with invaluable insights into the lives and careers of those in the defence sector.
📚 A Future in Defence: Blake’s enthusiasm for naval operations and his eagerness to engage in further work experiences before potentially joining the Defence reflects the spirit of initiative and curiosity we cherish at Euka. His experiences are a testament to the boundless opportunities available to our students, who are encouraged to explore their passions and aspirations beyond traditional classroom settings.
🎉 Congratulations, Blake! We’re incredibly proud of your achievements and can’t wait to see where your aspirations and adventures take you next!
